In short: AI assistants recommend the professionals they can understand and verify. To be named when a client asks ChatGPT “which business lawyer in Kigali?”, your website must say clearly who you are, what you do, where, and for whom, in a form machines can read, and other trusted sites must confirm it. Nobody can guarantee a citation, but you can measure where you stand and fix what keeps you out.
Your next client may never see your website first
For lawyers, accountants, consultants, clinics and other professional services, trust decides everything. Clients used to ask a friend, then Google. Now many ask an AI assistant and get a short answer with two or three names. If your firm is not one of them, you may never know you lost that client.
What makes an AI assistant name a firm
- Clarity. Your site states your services, your city and your clients in plain sentences, page by page.
- Structure. Structured data (schema) tells machines your firm’s name, address, services and opening hours.
- Answers. Pages that answer the real questions clients ask, in their words, are easier to quote.
- Confirmation. Directories, chambers, associations and press that mention you give the assistant reasons to trust you.
- Consistency. The same name, address and phone number everywhere: website, Google Business Profile, social media.
Six steps to take on your website
- One page per service. “Company registration in Rwanda”, “Employment law”, “Tax advice”: each service gets its own page that says what you do, for whom and how to start.
- An FAQ written in your clients’ words. “How much does it cost to register a company in Rwanda?”, “How long does a work permit take?”. Short, direct answers.
- Your team and credentials. Names, qualifications, memberships and years of practice. Assistants and clients both look for proof of expertise.
- Structured data and an llms.txt file. Schema describes your firm to machines; llms.txt is a short summary of your site written for AI tools.
- A complete Google Business Profile. Category, hours, photos, services and reviews, matching your website.
- Measure, then repeat. Ask the questions your clients ask, note who is named, and check again every few weeks.
Measure it with Amaso AI
Amaso AI, the WordPress plugin built by FOSIA, does step 6 for you. It checks the questions your clients ask ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity, shows when your firm is cited, who appears instead and which sources the answers rely on, then points to what to fix inside WordPress: schema, llms.txt, FAQs, missing pages.
Amaso AI Lite is free on WordPress.org. Paid plans start at $35.99 a year. Amaso AI does not promise rankings or citations: AI providers decide what they answer. It gives you dated, repeatable evidence.
Or let FOSIA do it
Service pages, FAQs, structured data and AI visibility are part of our Digital-as-a-Service plans, from $199.99 a month, with the website, SEO and maintenance included.
Frequently asked questions
Can I pay to appear in ChatGPT’s answers?
No. AI assistants do not sell places in their answers. What you can do is make your firm easy to understand and easy to verify.
Is this different from SEO?
It builds on SEO. Being found on Google still matters, and many of the same steps (clear pages, structured data, reviews) also help AI assistants. The difference is that the “result” is a written answer, so clear, quotable content counts even more.
How long does it take?
The fixes on your website can be done in a few weeks. The effect on AI answers takes longer and varies, which is why measuring regularly matters.
