Your link, your code, and why video loves codes

Disclosure on YouTube

The US Federal Trade Commission’s guidance is the clearest public reference. It says affiliates should disclose clearly and close to the recommendation, that the words “affiliate link” alone may not be understood, and that for videos the disclosure belongs in the video itself, not only in the description. It also notes that US rules can apply when US viewers are reasonably likely to see your content, and that other countries have their own rules. A simple sentence works: “I earn a commission if you buy through my link or code.”
Disclosure on TikTok
TikTok’s branded content policy is explicit. It counts as branded content any post that promotes a third-party product in exchange for payment or another incentive, including a product for which you receive a commission on sales through affiliate links or promo codes. When you post it, you must turn on the commercial content disclosure setting.
The policy also asks that the product be clear without viewers having to open your profile or a link. So name Amaso AI in the video or the caption, and do not rely on a link in your bio alone.
