Across most of Africa, your customers do not pay with a card. They pay with the wallet in their pocket: MTN MoMo, Airtel Money, Orange Money, M-Pesa, Wave and dozens of other Mobile Money networks. If your online store only takes cards, many of them simply leave at checkout.

How Fosia Pay works

Fosia Pay connects your WooCommerce store to your own PawaPay account. PawaPay is the payment provider that talks to the Mobile Money operators. Fosia Pay sits in your store and handles everything around the payment.

• 21 African countries, 40+ Mobile Money networks, 16 local currencies. Availability depends on what PawaPay has enabled on your merchant account.
• 0% commission taken by Fosia. You only pay PawaPay’s own processing fees.
• The operator is detected for you. Country, currency and network are read from the phone number, and store prices are converted to the customer’s local currency.
• Payments you can trust. An order is marked as paid only after PawaPay’s signed confirmation (RFC 9421) is verified, so a fake notification cannot mark an order as paid.

Live in three steps

1. Install the plugin. Download Fosia Pay Lite for free from pay.fosiarw.com, upload it to WordPress and activate it.
2. Connect PawaPay. Paste your PawaPay API token and copy the callback URL into your PawaPay dashboard. Test everything in sandbox mode first.
3. Get paid. The customer confirms the payment on their phone, and Fosia Pay marks the WooCommerce order as paid automatically.

Free with Lite, more with Pro

Fosia Pay Lite is free, with unlimited payments and no license key. Customers pay on a secure PawaPay page, and it works with the classic and block checkout. It is coming soon to WordPress.org; today you download it from pay.fosiarw.com.

Fosia Pay Pro ($19.99 a year, or $59 once for life) is for stores that want more:

• native checkout: the payment prompt reaches the customer’s phone without leaving your store;
• fewer failed payments: the number is checked as the customer types, operator outages are shown before paying, and a failed payment comes with a one-tap retry;
• full or partial refunds from the usual WooCommerce order screen;
• payouts to suppliers, staff or sellers, one by one or from a CSV list, with a review step before anything is sent;
• payment links and QR codes, to sell on WhatsApp, Instagram or in person.

Pro + AI ($39.99 a year) adds recurring payments, a REST API and an AI assistant in your dashboard. Agency ($79.99 a year) covers up to 25 client sites with white label. Does it replace cards?

No. Fosia Pay is for Mobile Money. If some of your customers pay by card, keep your card gateway (Stripe or PayPal, for example) next to it, and let each customer choose.
