Why We Built Amaso AI in Kigali

In Kinyarwanda, amaso means eyes. Being seen.

For as long as business has existed, being seen meant being chosen: recognized by your market, recommended by word of mouth. Today, a new set of eyes decides who gets recommended first: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude. Most African businesses do not know whether these eyes can see them at all.

The problem we kept seeing

At FOSIA we build and run websites for businesses in Rwanda and across Africa: hotels, tour operators, shops, schools, clinics, agencies. Their owners are rarely marketers. They work in French or English, they are busy, and they ask us three simple questions:

We do not promise rankings or citations. AI providers decide what they answer, and anyone who guarantees you a place in ChatGPT is guessing. Amaso AI shows measured, dated results, and nothing else.
